Tami Blake Hamilton, CPA
Tami has over twenty-five years of experience in the accounting, financial consulting, and tax field. She works with clients who are buying, selling, or expanding their business by assisting them with cash flow projections and related bank financing needs. Tami serves as Treasurer for the Jim Foye Memorial Foundation, and formerly served as Treasurer for the Westbrook Babe Ruth League, Westbrook Baseball Boosters, and Westbrook Chamber of Commerce.
Tami graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Southern Maine with a BS in Accounting.
Kathleen M. Hurley, E.A
Kathy has over 30 years of experience in the accounting world, primarily in the taxation field. She began her career in 1983 at KPMG Peat Marwick, working in the professional services group, specializing in closely held professional companies and their owners. She works with individuals, small businesses, and other entities in tax planning and preparation, as well as QuickBooks training and implementation. She received a B.S. in Marketing/Management from Siena College in 1982, and became an Enrolled Agent in 2000. She was a former Big Sister in the Big Brothers/Big Sister program, and has served as Treasurer for the Portland chapter of Habitat for Humanity. She is currently the Treasurer for Friends of TEIA and a board member of the Peaks Island Advisory Fund.
James C. McCallum, CPA
Jim McCallum has over thirty-five years of experience in the accounting and financial consulting field, including three years of experience as an Audit Principal at Berry Dunn McNeil & Parker, the largest accounting firm in northern New England. Prior to his employment at Berry Dunn, he was an auditor and tax accountant for four years at Ernst & Young. He has extensive experience servicing closely held clients in a variety of industries including manufacturing, construction, utilities and not-for-profit entities. He has experience assisting in planning and budgeting as well as dealing with lenders. He also has three years of experience as the CFO of a $25 million manufacturing, brokerage and distribution entity, which allows him to offer a certain operational experience not often found in accounting firms. He is a CPA, a member of the AICPA, and graduated from the University of Southern Maine, with a BS in Accounting and a BA in Education.
John Bowen, CPA
John Bowen is our behind the scenes senior accountant. He has worked in the accounting industry for over 20 years, beginning his career at KPMG Peat Marwick in 1988. He passed the CPA exam in the spring of 1992, and then joined the firm of Harris & Vickers as their senior accountant, where he specialized in the medical practices industry and their related tax needs. John joined BHMC in December of 2005 and works in all areas, such as individual and business tax return preparation and planning, QuickBooks services, and audited financial statements.
John received a B.A. in Economics from Colby College in 1985.
Becky Lewis, Office Manager
Becky Lewis joined the BHMC team as the office manager in June 2015, after working with us part-time through a couple of tax seasons. She comes to us with over 15 years of customer service experience with the same local company. Becky lives here in Westbrook with her family, and is an active community member.
In her role as Office Manager, Becky provides support to partners and keeps the day to day operations flowing smoothly at Blake Hurley McCallum & Conley LLC. She will gladly assist you and/or direct you to the appropriate partner as needed.
